Kamakura Ichimonji Sukezane
(Mid-Kamakura period)
During the days of the Shogen Ichimonji Sukezane moved with his entire school of swordsmiths to Yamauchi and started producing swords, we call them " Kamakura Ichimonji ". His designs were typical Tachi style ( a slightly curved blade longer than 60 cm ). These types of swords were made during the Mid-Kamakura Era ( 1232-1287). He was a master of the Choji Midare ( a clove shaped pattern ) as well as Yoshifusa. The swords are known as O- Choji Midare.
