From long ago when you mention Seishu Muramasa master swordsmith there was almost always talk of mysterious swords. It was said that Muramasa swords had mysteries powers, there has been many superstitions surronding the swords, such as the swords want of blood. Especially it was mentioned that Muramasa swords had brought misfortune to the Tokugawa Family. The ruling class at the time. Some people who had the swords would erase part of the name of the swordsmith the Mura or the Masa and felt at ease at doing so to avoid any misfortune. The blade's Hako-Midare (box-shaped pattern) is characteristic of Seishu Muramasa.
